Target confirms Kelowna store opening in 2013

Another major retail chain has confirmed its arrival in Kelowna in the summer of 2013.

Target will be located in the Orchard Park Plaza shopping centre, taking over the space currently occupied by Zellers.

Besides being one of the largest retail outlets in North America, Target's new store here will create 150 to 200 jobs, and bring a $10 million investment to upgrade the existing Zellers store space.

Overall, Target announced last year plans to open 125 to 135 stores across Canada mostly where Zellers stores currently operate, the majority of those coming on stream in 2013.

Anyone interested in working at the Target store in Kelowna can check out the website www.Target.ca/careers for more information,

Target is a Menneapolis-based corporation that operates 1,767 stores across the U.S. The Kelowna store will be among the first outlets for the company to open in Canada.
