New board for Tourism Kelowna

Brad Sieben, with the Hotel Eldorado, is the new chairman of the board for Tourism Kelowna.

Sieben was elected at the association’s annual general meeting held Dec. 4 at the Delta Grand, attended by more than 80 local tourism industry stakeholders and dignitaries.

Joining Sieben on the executive will be Stan Martindale, vice-chair, Ramada Hotel; Ian Robertson, treasurer, Kelowna Springs Golf Club; Steve Stinson, secretary, The Keg Restaurant; and Roger Sellick, past chair, executive consultant.

The board of directors consists of representatives from the Greater Kelowna tourism industry.

The one new director is David McFadden, of the Okanagan Lavender & Herb Farm.

Allan Gatzke, with Gatzke Farm Market in Lake Country, has stepped down as director. A Lake Country representative to replace Gatzke has yet to be named.

Tourism Kelowna is the official not-for-profit tourism industry association marketing the Kelowna area as a tourism destination.

In partnership with over 300 businesses, Tourism Kelowna generates tourism demand through strategic sales, marketing and visitor servicing to fulfill its mandate to increase overnight visitation and economic impact of tourism within Kelowna and area.

The annual general meeting was followed by an advanced social media workshop and working lunch, facilitated by guest instructor Aaron Nissen, of Think Social Media.
