Social Lounge and Grill has opened at 242 Lawrence Avenue (former Christopher’s location). Owned and operated by young entrepreneurs, Dan Mulgrew and Brent Reddicopp, the restaurant has been completely renovated, boasting new upscale décor, tall table seating, a huge bar, lots of booth seating and a very cool wall of wine dividing the restaurant and lounge. Chef Jordan Fraser offers a large selection of starters, soup, salads, pastas, burgers and entrees, all very reasonably priced for both lunch and dinner. All menu items are made fresh, in-house. I tried the fish and chips, which were made from pickerel, a different twist on the regular fish and chips. It was excellent. I also tried the duck confit Quesadilla, with a delicious side salad full of nuts, fruit, and feta cheese. It was also delicious. Social Lounge and Grill is open seven days a week with a DJ on site after 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Call 250-778-484-0242 .www.social242.com.
