Young: Alternative health therapy turned into a business
Several years ago while living in Vancouver, my eldest son Craig told me several stories of real life experiences that he witnessed utilizing an “energy healing” modality entitled Body Talk.
Craig told me he witnessed three or four serious situations regarding life threatening illnesses, such as cancer, where people were considered by medical professionals to be cured after receiving Body Talk treatments.
Body Talk uses our body’s own energy force to heal or lessen pain and discomfort from disease and illness.
Testimonials are aplenty in the social media world in case you feel a little skeptical on this topic.
But my focus for this week’s column is on Brigitte Thom, Quantum Touch practitioner from Vernon who I discovered via Facebook.
The fact that Thom was practicing energy healing caught my attention given what my son had told me in the past.
She was enthusiastically agreeable to meet for an interview to share her knowledge, insight and experiences using the Quantum Touch remedy she now offers to all.
Before I get into Thom’s journey into entrepreneurship in the Okanagan, let me offer you some context of the energy healing practice Brigitte and many others in North America exercise for you and I.
Quantum Touch is a method of hands-on healing that literally must be seen to be believed
Employing only a very light touch, one can profoundly accelerate the human body’s own healing response.
The effect is so immediate and extraordinary, you can actually witness bones in the body realign themselves with only a light touch.
Since the body itself decides where to place these bones for adjustment, you need never worry about doing it right.
Beyond structural realignment, pain and inflammation are quickly reduced, while organs, systems and glands become balanced.
We’ll come back to this magical mystery ride later, but let’s now learn a bit about Thom.
Born in Switzerland, Thom didn’t grow up in an entrepreneurial family, but she has a brother who launched an aircraft repair and maintenance venture and today is continuously innovating and creating new methodologies in his industry sector.
She embraced a sales industry education as part of the guild system in her native land.
After getting married, she worked with her husband in the restaurant service sector for a number of years in Switzerland and later in Banff, where the couple immigrated in 1992.
Banff is where Thom’s life takes a turn. After leaving the Banff café venture, the couple were divorced and she moved to Invermere.
There, she was the house manager for five years with a helicopter company.
Thom then moved to Penticton for a short time before moving here where she worked at two local area wineries, Quails’ Gate and Grey Monk.
In November 2012, she started working at the Sparkling Hills Resort in Predator Ridge.
Thom set up her Quantum Touch practice in Vernon in June 2013 and is shortly undertaking a joint wellness centre model in Vernon with John Latham, an energy healing colleague she is being trained under to enhance her overall skills set, still learning to perfect her craft.
To empower yourself to use Quantum Touch, you simply need to learn various breathing techniques, body awareness meditations and hand positions.
One can learn to become a highly capable practitioner in but a single day because the ability to heal is an inherent part of people’s essential nature.
Thom tells me that once you have mastered Quantum Touch, you can never forget how to do it, saying it’s like riding a bicycle.
For me, I am amazed how intensely intrigued I have become since taking the time to listen and embrace the potential of healing oneself.
I encourage you to check out Brigitte’s website at facebook.com/Quantum Healing Studio.
I guarantee you won’t be disappointed,
Until next time, let innovation and creativity be your mantras in life.
