Downtown Kelowna is proud to present the first Small Shop Saturday of 2014, this Saturday (April 5).
Downtown Kelowna recognizes that small businesses play a vital role in Kelowna’s local economy, not to mention provide jobs and preserve the Downtown neighbourhood. For every $100 spent, $46 is recirculated back into the local economy (LOCO BC).
This Saturday, over 100 participating businesses Downtown Kelowna are offering a special sale, demonstration or discount during Small Shop Saturday to help promote themselves and encourage customers to shop within their store.
With spring finally here, Downtown Kelowna fashion will be highlighted in the “Small Shop Saturday Fashion Show” produced by Déjà vu Modelling. Two complimentary shows beginning at 2:00pm at the Rotary Centre for the Arts will feature 20 Downtown Kelowna businesses, their fashion and accessories.
As usual there will be FREE PARKING at all street level, city owned parking lots and parkades on Saturday. Free parking makes it easier for the public to join in on this wonderful event.
Small business is the lifeblood of our community, come Downtown Kelowna this Saturday and make the pledge to support local.

• There are 84.2 small businesses per 1,000 people in BC, the highest rate in the country.
• Small businesses account for 98% of all businesses in BC
• Small businesses employ 56% of BC’s private sector workforce
• Small businesses represent one-third of BC’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
