A Kelowna photographer is about to have his dream come true when he opens the doors of his very own gallery.

Landon Hemmes has been working for nearly a decade as a photographer in the Okanagan and during that time he has landed himself on the pages of five international publications, won three awards here at home and shot more than 50 weddings.

“It’s an incredible feeling to be recognized for my passion and craft. I am proud to call the Okanagan home and love showcasing its beauty to the world through my lens,” said Hemmes.

Now, Hemmes wants to share his passion and expertise with more people which has led the budding photographer to open his own studio.

“This studio and gallery is where I will teach, create, and showcase my work, and I can’t wait to share this journey with the community,” he said.

Friends, family and fans have been collecting Hemmes pieces for several years and he says he has often been asked to have all his work all under one roof.

Landon Hemmes Photography will open Saturday, April 27 at 1195 Sutherland Avenue from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.

There will be an opportunity to look at Hemmes’ art as well as snacks, drinks and live music.
