Volunteer: 29 days to ‘make death wait’

Do you know someone who has suffered from a heart condition or stroke? Do you want to make a difference?

The Kelowna Heart and Stroke Foundation office is always looking for volunteers.

Canvass door to door. This is a great way to connect with your neighbours. In our area 1,400 volunteers are needed to go door to door.

Opening doors in your neighbourhood supports life-saving research. Heart disease and stroke will take one in three before their time. It is the No. 1 killer of women, more than all cancers combined.

Online fundraising. This can be done by anyone at any anytime from the convenience of their home. Simply register online and help raise important funds for your community.

Heart fund day. On Feb. 11 a donation of 25 cents from every grocery bag filled will be given by Coopers Food to The Heart and Stroke Foundation. Volunteer two to four hours to support this great community event.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation is a volunteer based health charity striving to eliminate heart disease and stroke through the advancement of research, promotion of healthy living and advocacy.

To volunteer, call the Kelowna office at 250-860-6275, go on line at www.heartandstroke.ca/help or visit and like the local Facebook page to see what is happening in your area: www.facebook.com/HeartandStrokeFoundationOkanaganKootenay.
