Binning banquet

The 12th annual Deepak Binning banquet fundraiser featuring Indian cuisine and dance will take place at the Rutland Centennial Hall on Saturday, starting at 6 p.m.

Tickets are still available at $75/person with a tax receipt issued for $50 of that cost.

The banquet will raise money for the new UBC Okanagan Medical School to help orphans with medical issues in India.

For more information about that program, see the webstie Eastmeetswestorphansfoundation.org

In the past, the fundraiser has generated some $250,000 for other UBC Okangaan programs, the cancer centre in Kelowna and to help pay for a special room at the new hospice house.

“This is an amazing event and well supported by the community” said event organizer Mohinni Singh, who is a Kelowna city councillor.

“Collectively we are all making a difference locally and globally.”
