Dressing up in red for charity event
On Nov. 3, Kelowna will be the first B.C. community to host the infamous Heart & Stroke Foundation’s Red Dress Event.
The event will showcase the strength of women and the battle that women face everyday against heart disease.
The night will be filled with great food and wine, a silent auction, local entertainment and a glamorous fashion.
Among all this, the event will be creating awareness for women of all ages and recognizing that one out of three women will suffer from heart disease or stoke.
“The Red Dress Event is an extra event that we wanted to do this year and knew that it would be well received within our community. We know first hand that heart disease and stroke is not limited by a persons age or sex and we are excited that this message will be shared with women throughout Kelowna,” said Joanne King, area manager for the Okanagan/ Kootenays, Heart & Stroke Foundation.
This non-profit event will be held at the Bottega in Southeast Kelowna, starting at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $100/person and can be ordered at the Heart & Stroke Foundation office, 1551 Sutherland Ave., or by calling 250-860-6275.
