People In Motion sponsor Ski-A-Thon

People In Motion will celebrate 25 years of providing adaptive programs and services by hosting an inaugural Ski-A-Thon at Big White Ski Resort.

People In Motion promotes equality, inclusion and healthy active living by providing adaptive programs and services to children, youth and adults who have a physical or sensory disability.

The Ski-A-Thon is intended to bring together the organization’s community supporters, volunteers, participants and other registrants to help promote and support inclusion for all persons in our communities.

All downhill skiers, adaptive skiers, snowboarders, cross-country skiers and even snowshoe enthusiasts are invited to participate.

By becoming a registered Ski-A-Thon participant or team you will help raise funds for adaptive recreational programs such as adaptive skiing, Kids In Motion Family Fun Day, wheelchair basketball, power wheelchair soccer, adaptive recreational equipment loans program and the adaptive transportation program.

The Ski-A-Thon will be held in conjunction with the annual invitational Kids In Motion Family Fun Day at Big White Ski Resort.

Some 75 to 100 individuals participate in this invitational event each year, which could not sustain this annual funfilled day without the hard work and dedication of about 40 volunteers.

People In Motion is a volunteer-driven charitable organization and relies on 79 to 81 highly skilled, knowledgeable and professional volunteers.

For additional information on all of our programs and to register for our Ski-A-Thon, check out the website www.pimbc.ca.
