Big Book Sale at First United in Kelowna

The Big Book Sale happens this Saturday, March 29, at First United Church, corner of Bernard Avenue and Richter Street in Kelowna.

There will be 35 tables full of books, mainly paperbacks and specialty items,

The Outreach committee is again raising funds exclusively to help students in El Triumfo, El Salvador to continue their secondary school studies.

All monies raised go to teenage students to help their families pay their tuition in their local schools. This is a non profit effort thanks to volunteers and the First United Church which has donated the space.

Donations of soft cover books are welcome this week. Please drop them off on Friday afternoonat the church hall.

If you wish to donate your time as a volunteer to help with the set -up, please call either 250 -860-9696  (co-ordinator)  or 250-762- 3311 ( church office) and leave your name and contact information.

You also get to meet lots of other book and reading aficionados.

Set -up is on Friday from 1 until 3 p.m. in the Church Hall, which is also the best time to drop off book donations too.

The Big Book Sale opens at 9 a.m. and wraps up at noon on Saturday.
