If you take a careful look, just above the sign in the lower branches of the tree, you'll see a predator of renown.

Correct identification of its genus is difficult but, measuring near 50 cm tall, this hunter means business.

Its image was captured by Camila Monagas, an astute resident of Kelowna, as it rested—or awaited prey—across Lakeshore Road from Rotary Park beach in late March.
