It’s National Volunteer Week in the Okanagan.

KCR Community Resources, Project Literacy Kelowna and the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club are celebrating by showing their appreciation for their volunteers with a multi-agency Volunteer Appreciation BBQ.

“It’s a chance for us to recognize and show appreciation for our volunteers and a chance for volunteers to connect with one another,” said organizer Stephanie Moore. “We are excited to partner with our neighbouring non-profit organizations, Project Literacy and the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club, to create a really special event this year.”

National Volunteer Week is spearheaded by Volunteer Canada and celebrates volunteers across our country from April 23 to 29. This year marks the 14th year Volunteer Canada has delivered the campaign in partnership with Investor’s Group, a longstanding supporter of National Volunteer Week and Canada’s Corporate Leader in volunteer recognition.

The Volunteer Appreciation BBQ will take place on Tuesday, April 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the lawn of the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club Youth Centre.
