Celebrity tennis tournament for cardiac care at KGH

Annual tennis and bocce tournament hosted by South Pandosy residents Walley and Marietta Lightbody.

The 14th annual Lightbody/KGH Foundation Tennis and Bocce Tournament will take place Sept. 11 to 13, hosted at the home of South Pandosy residents Walley and Marietta Lightbody.

Over the past 13 year, this tournament has raised more than $650,000 for life saving cardiac equipment for Kelowna General Hospital.

The tournament is open to all levels of tennis player, with celebrity and youth matches combined with the Capozzi family bocce championship and a banquet.

The guest celebrity players this year will include Rosie Schaich and Kerry Bourdon, with special guests Milos and Mila Pospisil.

Funds raised from the event this year will be directed to the purchase of a sonosite ultrasound unit for KGH’s Cardiac Care Unit.

The registration deadline to participate is Tuesday, Sept. 8, at kghfoundation.com.
