Next year, Canada celebrates its 150th anniversary. The Kelowna Museum is preparing for the Sesquicentennial with new experiences that bring diverse and surprising stories from the last 150 years into the galleries.

One highlight of 2017 will be the summer exhibition, Quiet Stories from Canadian Places. Artist Heather Cline of Saskatchewan has been crisscrossing Canada collecting images and stories for the multi-media exhibition that will travel to numerous cities, including Kelowna.

Cline will be in Kelowna during Culture Days 2016 to collect material for the project. Please come to Kerry Park on Friday, Sept. 30 and to the museum on Saturday, Oct. 1 to share your stories and be a part of an exciting commemorative project.

When you're at the museum, check in on the gallery changes that are underway. Also, find out what’s going on downstairs on a fascinating tour behind the scenes at the Okanagan Heritage Museum.

Share your Quiet Stories from Canadian Places, Friday Sept. 30 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Kerry Park at the foot of Bernard Avenue in Kelowna.

Or drop by the Okanagan Heritage Museum 470 Queensway Ave. in Kelowna, on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 2 to 5 p.m.
