The third annual Peace Walk gives citizens of Kelowna a chance to spread positive messages.

On March 24, the Give Peace a Voice event exists to create an awareness of nonviolent principles and practice as a powerful way to heal, transform and empower our lives and communities.

A grassroots campaign called Season for Nonviolence was initiated by a forward thinking organization called Associated Global New Thought (AGNT). Drawing from Gandhi and King’s advocacy towards the conscious stand for nonviolence and the prevalence of peace on earth, and runs from Jan. 30 to April 4.

Join Deputy Mayor Mohini Singh and folks of all ages at 1 p.m. to kick off the Peace Walk, beside the tennis courts in the City Park on Abbott Street. Peace rocks will also be given out as symbols of peace to be seeded and grown.
