O’Keefe Ranch’s 150th birthday is being commemorated with a special postage stamp.

Canada Post is assisting the Historic O’Keefe Ranch celebrating its 150th anniversary Thursday.

Kelowna stamp collector and designer Peter Lepold have arranged with the O’Keefe Ranch and Canada Post to print a special commemorative stamp which honors the anniversary.

“The stamp depicts the newly painted St. Anne Church on the ranch property,” said Leopold, who has designed more than 100 postage stamps, many commemorating anniversaries in the North Okanagan such as the 1516 Beer Purity Law anniversary in 2016 (which has a Vernon connection with Okanagan Spring Brewery and one of its products named 1516) and the City of Armstrong’s 100th birthday in 2013.

The stamps are printed under Canada Post’s Picture Postage program which means the distribution is limited; they are not available at your local post office and can only be purchased at the O’Keefe Ranch and from Peter Lepold at the Kelowna Stamp Club.

Aside from stamps there will be commemorative cards.

For more information contact or visit the O’Keefe Ranch or e-mail Peter Lepold at lepold@telus.net.
