Special musical treat for Kelowna

Encore 2012 is a music extravaganza starring the students of the Kelowna Senior Secodnary music program with special guests singer Robert Fine and guest MCs Rosemary Thompson and Marion Barschal.

Over 250 students performing in 18 different groups—ranging from chamber choir to concert band, jazz, R&B and orchestral music—will appear at the Kelowna Community Theatre on Tuesday, Feb. 21, and Wednesday, Feb. 22.

Each night will offer a unique program and music experience.Guest MCs Rosemary Thompson and Marion Barschal will provide animated and informed musical commentary throughout the evenings and Thompson, the conductor of the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, will conduct the school's Night Owl Orchestra.

As a KSS ENCORE first, local jazz musician, Robert Fine will perform both independently and alongside selected student groups. “It will be a night to remember and I have already connected with some of the students.  it’s going to be a great event”* says Fine.

Young and old will love the music and be inspired by the KSS music students. The KSS music department students are capably led by well-known and much loved conductors Neil Wong and Sheila French.

Tickets are available from the KSS school office, on-line orders or at the door. The Box office opens at 6:30 pm and show time is 7 pm. All proceeds will go to the KSS music program.  These funds go towards high quality music and instrument purchase and repair to ensure the KSS music department opportunities are available for all students who want to participate.  Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for students, with discounts for those able to attend both nights. For more information and to order tickets go to KSSEncore.comMedia Contacts:Neil Wong KSS Music Department  nwong@sd23.bc.ca  250 762-2805 ext 6804Jo-Anne Ritchie Parent Volunteer Committee ritdean@telus.net 250 762-4262
