UBCO grad students stage art exhibit
Six graduate student artists from UBC Okanagan will showcase their creative projects at a public gallery event titled Six Stories: Graduate Student Open House from Nov. 14 to 16.
The open house runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily in the Fine Arts gallery in the Fine Arts and Health Building, 1148 Research Rd., at the UBC Okanagan campus.
The exhibit will feature a diverse mix of creative works in the areas of hybrid-genre, pop culture prints and paintings, new eco-poetry, cross cultural magical realism, sound visualization, and osteo-poetics.
The graduate students will share the creative practices and processes behind their projects. The artists will develop new work at the exhibition, and hope to engage the public in discussions.
On Friday, Nov. 16, from 3:30 to 4 p.m., a sound visualization live performance by visual artist Rosa Park and musician Karen Shepherd will also take place.
