Six years ago, Vernon musician and worship pastor at the Vernon Alliance Church Jon Buller came up with the idea to create an event that would help others grow their gifts and talents within the arts.

The Levite Summit was born.

Presented by Buller’s Hear the Music Ministries, a registered non-profit, the non-denominational conference is now in its fourth year and takes place at Kelowna’s Trinity Church March 3 and 4.

“My team and I are excited to bring the Levite Summit once again to the Valley in hopes that everyone will leave inspired with new ideas, feeling refreshed and renewed, and ultimately equipped and inspired to continue creating and leading with authenticity within their communities,” said Buller.

Aimed at “Levites,” who are passionate about using their gifts and talents to serve within and outside the church, the summit has been strategically designed to encourage, equip and inspire its attendees in the areas of worship arts through keynote addresses, a full-day of breakout sessions and new this year, a pre-conference songwriting workshop.

“More than 20 music and arts specialists have been brought on board to lead an inspirational and educational weekend of breakout sessions,” said Buller.

This year, Juno award winning artist and storyteller Steve Bell will be leading the keynote sessions and performing on the Friday night, followed by a worship concert (open to the public) featuring special guest Sean Feucht of Bethel Music, renowned guitarist Jacob Moon with his new band The Commissionaires, as well as Buller and friends.

Known for his sense of humour, superb storytelling ability, and skills in singing and songwriting, Bell has been an integral part of the music industry for the past 25 years and is armed with a focussed mission to “encourage Christian faith and thoughtful living through artful word and song.”
