Haunted hall setup a first for East Kelowna

Money raised will go towards the ongoing restoration of the historic East Kelowna Hall.

In two weeks, the East Kelowna Community Hall Association will present its inaugural Haunted Hall Halloween event.

Money raised from this event will go towards the ongoing restoration of the historic East Kelowna Hall.

Haunted Hall opens to the public on Saturday, Oct. 27, running nightly until Halloween.  This five-day event is designed to scare the pants off of those 12 years and older, but those under 12 will be welcome for a less terrifying visit from 5 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 30 and 31.

The cost is $5/person.

“Planning for the Haunted Hall began 8 months ago,” explained  Kathy Bullach, president of the EKCHA.

“Our volunteers will transform East Kelowna Hall into a creepy, disturbing place. There isn’t much in Kelowna for those who love Halloween, and we (the EKCHA) hope to fill the gap with this event.”

The East Kelowna Hall was built in 1940, and is listed on the Kelowna Heritage Register.

The EKCHA volunteer board has been actively working on revitalizing and renovating the building for the past two  years.
