What is new in volunteer opportunities? Read on and find out.

The Terry Fox Foundation is looking for people to coordinate activities, music, stage and posters for the run to be held on Sept. 14. Here are the details.

The activities coordinator will contact previous entertainers, special guests and event day activities by email and phone. Vacancies will be filled with new leads. At the run, you will greet and coordinate activity volunteers.

As the music and stage coordinator, you will contact past performers, recruit new performers, determine technical sound needs, greet performers on run day and coordinate stage performances. You will be supported by the run chairperson.

The poster putter-upper coordinator will contact a list of past helpers, organize printing and distribution of posters and help put them up between mid to end of August. Hours can be determined by you.

If any of these roles appeal to you, please contact Lisa Worman, a proud volunteer, by phone 250-762-0032 or email Terryfoxrunkelowna@gmail.com.

The Regional District of the Central Okanagan is looking for a volunteer trail patroller. This is your opportunity to learn more about our natural environment and to assist in maintaining its facilities and programs.

Volunteer trail patrollers are a presence in the parks to patrol trails, educate, give information, remind people of park regulations, and note any disturbances in the park. You will observe, record and report any problems for regional parks staff to follow-up on. Trail patrollers must be 19 years of age and older.

For more information, please call 250-469-6232.

Brandt’s Creek Mews is looking for volunteers to transport residents to and from their rooms to the hair salon, which is open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Choose your day to work and receive complimentary hairstyles and manicures.
