West Kelowna: World music this Saturday

World Music Festival will fill Memorial Park on Saturday, Aug. 23.

There is even more music to enjoy this weekend in West Kelowna with the World Music Festival in Memorial Park, Saturday, Aug. 23 from 5 to 10 p.m.

“Not only do we have a terrific lineup of onstage performances,” said Creative Okanagan’s Ryan Donn, “World Music Festival adds free cultural activities and experiences, plus the excitement of the Interior Savings Kids’ zone.”

Various food vendors will be on site for those wanting to purchase savory snacks or cool off with some refreshments.

“There’s nothing like grabbing lawn chairs and lemonade and watching great local and regional talent as the sun sets and the stars come out over West Kelowna on a warm summer evening,” said Mayor Doug Findlater.

Donn said the World Music Festival builds on Music in the Park’s solid musical foundation which has been drawing up to 1,000 spectators every Friday night throughout the summer.
