Volunteers: Help children’s wishes come true

Do you enjoy getting involved in your local community while working with other like-minded individuals to achieve a common goal? If the answer is yes, then Children’s Wish Foundation has a wonderful opportunity for you.

On Oct. 15 The BC & Yukon Chapter of The Children’s Wish Foundation will be hosting its 7th annual Wishmaker Walk for Wishes and we need your help.

Expanding on last year’s spirited Wishmaker Walk hosted by New Westminster in Greater Vancouver, we are adding some new walk sites across B.C. and we would love Kelowna to join us.

Established in 1984, Children’s Wish Foundation is a 100 per cent Canadian, non-profit organization that grants wishes to children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. With the support of dedicated donors, volunteers and staff, Children’s Wish has granted 17,000 wishes to Canadian children and continues bringing hope and joy to the lives of these very brave, deserving children.

The Wishmaker Walk for Wishes is a fun-filled, family-oriented pledge-based walk that builds community spirit and unity while supporting a great cause. Many Wish children and their families live in the Okanagan Valley.

We are seeking a group of dedicated volunteers to plan and execute a Wishmaker Walk for Wishes in Kelowna. This organizing committee will consist of five to eight members and will be managed by a Wishmaker Walk chairperson.

Children’s Wish will support the organizing committee every step of the way and will provide all materials, supplies, and information required to run a successful walk.
