Xeriscape garden contest seeks entries

You can win two yards (delivered) of classic compost from Dean Dack by entering the early bird draw, by Aug. 15, in the Okanagan Xeriscape Association’s garden contest.

Your entry will also be eligible for the final draw prize of $500 cash as well as the category prizes. Contest closes Aug. 31.

It’s open to all residential gardeners in the Central Okanagan Regional District who have elected to grow drought-tolerant plants.

They provide a beautiful landscape but require far less water than plants which are not native in the Okanagan’s near-desert climate conditions.

Your xeriscaped garden does not need to include your entire yard. One category also includes gardens that were professionally-landscaped.
