A women’s race car driver from Comox Valley is coming to Kelowna for International Women’s Day.

On Mar. 7, the day before International Women’s Day, Kelowna Mercedes-Benz is welcoming Formula 3’s first female champion Nicole Havrda.

The 18-year-old will be on hand to share her story about competing in a male-dominated sport as well as encouraging more women to enter the automotive industry. She will also be taking part in a question and answer period with members of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

This initiative will also be a part of Mercedes-Benz Canada’s Driving Your Future corporate citizenship initiative, which focuses on empowering the next generation of Canadians.

Havrda’s goal is to make it to Formula 1.
