Central Okanagan Search and Rescue and an RCMP service dog are currently searching for a missing elderly male in the Glenrosa area of West Kelowna.

Gerald Newsham, 82, left his home in the 3000-block of McTaggart Rd at around 9:30 a.m. When he didn't return, his wife contacted police.

Newsham has a medical condition and may be in a depressed state of mind.

He is described as Caucasian, six feet tall, 185 pounds, medium build with short, grey hair and a thin grey mustache. He is believed to be wearing a dark jacket, jeans and a dark ball cap. He was also wearing glasses.

Police are asking anyone who sees Newsham to please call the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880.
