West Kelowna woman goes missing

A 45-year-old West Kelowna woman, believed to be in a depressed state of mind, is being sought by her family, friends and police.

Barbara Waighorn was last seen by her father around 2 a.m., at their home on Churchill Rd in West Kelowna. Her father heard her leave the home shortly thereafter, and became concerned for her as this was unusual behavior. Police were notified at 2:30 a.m, and have been searching for her since that time, with no success.

Waighorn is described as Caucasian, 5'4" tall, 170 lbs with long brown hair and brown eyes. Police have no current clothing description.

Police are asking anyone with information to please call the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880. Waighorn is also an insulin dependent diabetic and it is feared that she may not have insulin with her.
