Apple Triathlon up and running

The 29th annual Pushor Mitchell Apple Triathlon got off to a good start on Saturday.

At 7:10 a.m. the races began beginning with 275 athletes competing in the Kids of Steel races.

Over a hundred beginners competed in the Try-a-Tri event, which includes a 300 m swim, a 15 km bike ride and a 3 km run.

Later in the morning, male and female junior elites competed in a 750 m swim, a 20 km bike ride and a 5 km run.

On Sunday, elite racers will compete for prize money. The races will determine standings on the Canadian National Team.
