Bank robber suspect arrested despite quick hair cut

Kelowna RCMP have arrested a male suspect in relation to a robbery Thursday at Interior Savings on Bernard Avenue in Kelowna.

Police received information on the suspect's identity and were able to locate and arrest him at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday outside a business at Sutherland and Burtch Avenue.

The suspect, a 43-year-old man from Kelowna, was cooperative with police and does have an extensive related criminal record.

In order to further the ongoing police investigation, police are asking hair stylists and barbers to come forward, if they have information that may be relevant.

In a photo that was released shortly after the robbery, the suspect has a mid-length, shaggy hair style. But when arrested the suspect's hair was much shorter.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cpl. Mick McKee Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
