Kelowna downtown light up goes Saturday
Kelowna's downtown community Christmas tree will light up Saturday.
The traditional seasonal tree lighting up will take place at 6 p.m. and be part of an all-day celebration that will include lantern-making, entertainment, free public ice-skating on the Stuart Park outdoor rink, holiday movies at the nearby Paramount Theatre on Bernard Avenue, food and warm drinks, face-painting for kids and even a visit from the jolly old elf himself, Santa Claus.
The events start at 10 a.m. and with lantern-making at the Kelowna Art Gallery, go all day and wrap up at 7 p.m., an hour after the Christmas tree light up and arrival of Santa in Kerry Park.
Free parking wil be available at the Chapman and Library parkades.
