West Kelowna: More single-lane closures until further notice

Motorists are advised to expect single-lane closures, in both directions, under the Westside Road overpass nightly between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The closures will allow the contractor to continue repairs to the overpass, which had one of its retaining walls collapse on Nov. 20.

Lane closures will be removed each day by 5 a.m. to allow for two lanes of traffic during the morning commute.

Intermittent delays may also occur while the contractor moves materials.

Work on the site will continue 24 hours per day while the contractor, Ledcor Construction, works to finish the wall repairs and reopen Westside Road.

The Westside Road crossing of Highway 97 remains closed to all traffic.

Traffic at the Nancee Way intersection continues to be directed by traffic control personnel. Alternate accesses to Highway 97 are available via the Boucherie Road/Horizon Drive and Westlake Road/Hudson Road intersections.

The speed zone around the overpass is 60 km/h.

The cause of the collapse has still not been determined.
