Highway 97 traffic halted by accident
Traffic is beginning to move again in one lane as the police, fire department an ambulance personnel work to clear away the wreckage from a multi-car accident that occurred this morning on Highway 97 near Oyama.
The accident caused Highway 97 traffic in both directions to come to a halt as a winter snow storm descended on the Central Okanagan this morning.
Details from police are still sketchy as to what happened, but police report traffic is now moving slowly in a single lane for both directions.
Conditions this morning are extremely slippery, say police, and drivers are advised to slow down and respect the hazardous road conditions.
