Motorcyclist dies from injuries in Kelowna accident
An accident at the intersection of Harvey and Cooper in Kelowna has claimed the life of a 59-year-old Kelowna man, the seventh fatality to occur so far in 2012
The Kelowna man, who police have not yet identified, died from his injuries sustained in the crash.
Police say at about 3:20 p.m., the motorcyclist and his 56-year-old wife were riding a Harley Davidson, apparently stopped behind a white Dodge van when they were struck by a Jeep Cherokee.
The force of the collision thrust the two occupants of the motorcycle into the back of the Dodge van.
The motorcycling passenger serious but non life threatening injuries. No one else was injured in the collision.
The Central Okanagan Traffic Services are continuing their investigation today, attempting to determine whether the use of a cell phone was a factor in the crash. It is currently unknown what charges may be recommended.
