Update: Body found on Westside
Update: The body has been identified as that of Andrew Lalonde, who had gone missing from his home around Jan. 17.
The body of an unidentified person was found in a wooded West Kelowna area Monday night.
Police were called to a spot just off Elk Road, when area residents made the discovery, before 5 p.m. Monday. RCMP say it doesn't appear as though foul play was a factor, and the body has since been turned over to the coroner.
"There will be an autopsy at 2 p.m.," said Const. Kris Clark, refusing to comment on the particulars, or any speculation in the community.
"Hopefully they will be able to identify the body then."
