Over 11.5 million votes cast for Hockeyville
Canadians have voted in record numbers to decide the community most deserving of the 2012 Kraft Hockeyville title.
A total 11,542,609 votes were cast during the voting phases of the competition.
But those interested in what communities received the most votes will have to wait until Saturday evening.
During the first intermission of the Vancouver Canucks vs. Calgary Flames hockey broadcast on Saturday evening, CBC will announce the winner of Kraft Hockeyville 2012.
The West Kelowna Hockeyville committee has organized a full day of free events at Royal LePage Place on Saturday as part of the celebration.
CBC will broadcast throughout the day from Royal LePage Place and will be bringing broadcast personality Gord Stellick and NHL alumnus Bobby Holik to be a part of West Kelowna's festivities.
The winner of Kraft Hockeyville 2012 will host an NHL preseason game this fall and win $100,000 in arena upgrades.
The four runner-up communities will each receive $25,000 for arena upgrades from Kraft Canada.
