Kelowna Mounties score big with drug bust
The patience of the Kelowna Drug Section paid off when they busted three suspects for trafficking and seized a significant quantity of drugs and cash.
After a lengthy investigation into several suspected drug dealers, the Kelowna Drug Section arrested three men for trafficking. Upon arresting the first man, a 34 year old from Kelowna, police located about 285 grams of heroin and a large quantity of cash, June 11.
"A second man, Daryl Manuel, 25, arrested after leaving a residence on Country Club Drive, was found to be in possession of 35 grams of heroin," said Const. Kris Clark.
"Police subsequently obtained a search warrant for the residence in Quail Ridge and located approximately 1.3 lbs of crack cocaine, 42 grams of soft cocaine, 113 grams of heroin, marihuana, more cash and two sets of body armour. Further arrests were made inside the residence including the resident, Joshua Lambrecht, 21."
In total, police seized approximately 1.5 lbs of cocaine, about 396g of heroin, over 116g of marihuana and almost $12,000 in cash.
Both men have been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. Police will also be recommending a charge of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking against the 34 year old Kelowna man.
Lambrecht was also issued two violation tickets for possessing body armour without a permit, each carrying a fine of $288.
