Theft tip leads to West Kelowna grow-op bust
Acting on a tip regarding the theft of hydro, West Kelowna RCMP members executed a search warrant on a residence and found a sophisticated marijuana grow operation Tuesday.
Mounties executed the search warrant on a residence in the 3500 block of Ashley Court. Police discovered a hydro bypass and sophisticated grow operation throughout the house.
RCMP officers seized 653 marijuana plants in various stages of production and arrested a 49-year-old West Kelowna man.
The man faces potential charges of Theft of Electricity, Production of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
He has been released on a Promise to Appear for Court at a later date.
