Update: West Kelowna watermain repair complete
Update:
The district has repaired a watermain break occurred at 4 p.m. in the Boucherie and Westlake Road area.
As water service resumes, residents can expect discoloured water; therefore, they're advised to run their cold water taps for a few minutes until the water runs clear.
The district apologizes for the disruption.
Original story:
The District of West Kelowna has shut down water service in the Boucherie Road area due to a watermain break. Repair crews are on site and expect the water to be shut down overnight for residents on the following roads:
- Devon Court
- Devon Road
- Sommerset Court
- Sommerset Road
- Sussex Road
- Hants Road
- Surrey Road
- Caledonia Way
- Faulkner Crescent
- Sunview Place
- Sunview Drive
- Starlight Crescent
- Moonbeam Close
- Boucherie Road from Stuart Road to Proserpine Road
The district says it will make a public announcement when full service is restored. Residents with urgent questions or situations can contact the district at (250) 862-7577.
Residents near these roads may encounter discoloured water and may wish to run an outside tap for a few minutes to clear it.
Crews will work through the night to repair the line. But the district says it takes time to drain the line before the repairs can be conducted, then time to recharge the line after repairs are done.
