Crotch rocket brought to a halt

RCMP have apprehended a man after he was clocked driving a Suzuki motorcycle at 263 km/h on the Okanagan Connector Hwy 5A near Peachland Friday afternoon.

The driver was reportedly wearing black riding gear and a black helmet.

The bike was blue and white in colour.

The driver may be the same person who was observed driving at extreme speeds up the Connector toward Merritt earlier in the day. Unconfirmed reports have him eluding the RCMP at that time.

On the return trip he wasn't so lucky and was stopped on the Connector near Trepanier Road above Peachland.

Initial reports have him being charged with traveling at excessive speed and that the bike was towed.
