Kelowna murder investigation stalled after three years
Three years after the shooting death of Christopher Daniel Hetu, Kelowna Mounties have failed to make any arrests.
Kelowna RCMP started their investigation into the Hetu murder, after they received a report of a man down in Mill Bridge Park, Oct. 27 2009.
"A 20 year old man was rushed to hospital with apparent gun shot wounds where he was pronounced deceased. The man was identified as Christopher Daniel Hetu, who had recently relocated to Kelowna from Prince George," said Const. Kris Clark.
"An autopsy later confirmed that Hetu 's death was the result of injury inflicted by a firearm."
The investigation revealed that Hetu was observed entering Mill Bridge Park at about 1 a.m. on a BMX bike via the Gordon Drive Entrance (Across from Brookside Avenue). Sometime between 1:10 am and 1:15 am, witnesses heard from three to five gun shots coming from the area of the park, where his body was located.
Police believe that there are individuals in Kelowna and Prince George that have information about this murder and ask that they come forward to assist in identifying the person or persons responsible for Hetu's death.
