Update: Missing Kelowna teenager found in Medicine Hat
Update: Demi Rempel was safely located in Medicine Hat after being reported missing Monday.
Original story: A Kelowna teen who went missing on Sunday is believed to be travelling with a young man, headed towards Regina.
On Nov. 19th at 6:30 p.m., the Kelowna RCMP received a report of a missing youth. Demi Rempel had apparently left her home in the 1400 block of Terai Road at around 9 p.m. the previous evening, leaving a note indicating she did not want to return. Rempel has been spending time with a 20 year old man from Regina who recently moved to Kelowna and the man had expressed interest in hitchhiking back to Regina. He disappeared around the same time as Rempel.
The subsequent police investigation suggests Rempel and the 20 year old man are headed east on the TransCanada Highway.
The girl's family is concerned for Rempel's well-being as her current mental state is unknown and there are indications she has been experimenting with drugs and alcohol.
Rempel is described as a 16 year old Caucasian girl, about 5'5" and 130lbs with long brown hair and blue eyes. She also wears dark-framed glasses.
Anyone with any information regarding her whereabouts iis asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to report.
