Pedestrain hit on Springfield Road succumbs to injuries

The woman who was struck by a bus at the corner of Springfield and Barlee roads earlier this month has died.

Wednesday afternoon police released a statement saying the woman, who was only ever identified to the public by a description of her purple coat, has passed away in hospital.

"The investigation is ongoing, and police are seeking further witnesses to the crash," the statement said.

She was 73-years-old and walking alone when she stumbled off a sidewalk into the path of a bus making a left-hand turn. It took a day before her family was connected with her in the hospital.

At the time of the incident, rainy conditions and poor visibility were said to be a factor in the crash.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Central Okanagan Traffic Services at 250-980-5353.
