Kelowna RCMP searching for home invasion suspect
An arrest warrant has been issued for a 29-year-old Kelowna man in relation to a home invasion on Halloween night.
Matthew Scott Stewart has been charged with weapons offences and various break-and-enter offences in relation to a home invasion in the 1300-block of Belaire Avenue in the early hours of Nov. 1; he is still at large, possibly having fled to the Lower Mainland.
Initial reports indicated two men had broken into the home with guns and threatened the woman inside, who fled and called 911.
Police tracked the suspects and arrested Keven Graham, but missed nabbing Stewart at the time.
Tuesday afternoon, police released the suspect's photo, noting he has more tattoos on both sides of his neck and is bulkier than the picture shows.
Anyone with any information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300. One can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by delivering a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net or texting CRIMES (274637) ktown.
