Elderly West Kelowna pedestrian hit in dinnertime accident

A 90-year-old West Kelowna man is in hospital after being struck by a van while walking in the 1300 block of Water Street last night.

Monday evening, shortly after 6:30 p.m., the man stepped out onto Water Street in front of Lake City Casino and was hit by an oncoming van.

The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to Kelowna General Hospital by ambulance where he remains in stable condition.

No charges are currently anticipated. The investigation is ongoing.
