A Quesnel man has made his first court appearance in relation to a West Kelowna crash that took the life of a mother of two.
Jordan Wayne Garvin, 22, has been charged with dangerous driving causing the death of 46-year-old Cindy Thomas and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
Thomas died on March 3, 2012, when the Pontiac Bonneville she was a passenger in was hit as it made a left turn onto Ross Road from Highway 97.
The crash likely killed Thomas instantly. The drivers of the Pontiac and Lexus involved in the crash were injured.
At the time, police alleged aggressive driving and speeding on the part of the Lexus were factors in the collision. They were also investigating whether the light was yellow or red at the time the Pontiac turned left.
Garvin was scheduled to make his first court appearance on Tuesday and his case has been put over until Feb. 19.
He is one of two people facing charges in the crash, court records show.
Scott Preston, the alleged driver of the Pontiac, was charged last week with the Motor Vehicle Act offences of failing to stop for a yellow light at an intersection and driving without a driver's licence. The 45-year-old is
scheduled to make his first court appearance in early March.
