West Kelowna market sounding generating response

The District of West Kelowna is receiving input from landowners in the municipality after its call for participation in a market sounding exercise regarding the development of a new municipal hall.

The market sounding was launched March 13, after council heard from consultant Jonathan Huggett. It's intended to determine the market place interest, and explore potential partnerships, regarding such a development in an open and non-binding manner.

"We have received a fair amount of interest from existing landowners in the municipality and a few comments from residents with advice relative to where a municipal hall/civic centre should be located," said Huggett.

"We are certainly interested in receiving more input from the business community; although, in my experience, we often receive the bulk of the reposes as we get closer to the deadline."

Stakeholders—including West Kelowna landowners, the development community, taxpayers and community organizations—have until May 3 to provide input into the market sounding exercise.

Inquiries related to this market sounding can be directed to Jonathan Huggett via e-mail: jhuggett@jrhuggettco.com.

The market sounding document is available on the district's website, districtofwestkelowna.ca. Copies of the document are also available at West Kelowna Municipal Hall at 2760 Cameron Road.

Written submissions can be e-mailed to: info@districtofwestkelowna.ca.

The deadline for responses is May 3.
