Entertainment, goodies, discounts offered at Kelowna Small Shop Saturday
Several pedestrians couldn't help but stop and watch Shadow perform magic Saturday in front of Roy's Shoes on Ellis Street.
The "shock illusionist" started his act by seemingly swallowing several nails, then a piece of string, before miraculously regurgitating the items, which had somehow become connected.
By the time he got to his finale—a two metre walk along shards of glass—the small crowd had nearly doubled in size.
The entertainment was one small part of the first Small Shop Saturday of 2013.
Nearly 100 businesses took part in the event by offering discounts or goodies to visitors of their stores.
The City of Kelowna also offered free parking on the street and in the Library and Chapman parkades to help the cause.
