Update: Kelowna RCMP capture break-and-enter suspect on Greenway
A 37-year-old man from Kelowna, who allegedly broke into a Hall Road residence just before 10 a.m. this morning, had nowhere to hide, police say.
At 9:45 a.m., the Kelowna RCMP helicopter began tracking a man who had reportedly broken into a home in the 3100-block of Hall Road.
The windows of the house had been broken and an unknown man had been seen inside the residence who then fled reportedly fled on a scooter, heading for KLO Road, with a backpack of stolen goods.
The helicopter spotted the man with the stolen property nearby, and the scooter was soon determined to have been stolen from an apartment building on Bernard Avenue.
Officers on the ground worked with those in the air, and a dog team, and he was soon apprehended.
He is facing several charges including break-and-enter and theft; possession of stolen property; and possession of break-in instruments. He is expected to appear in court tomorrow.
Kelowna RCMP arrested a suspect off the Mission Creek Greenway at Fisher Road mid-morning who is suspected of committing a break-and-enter.
The area is just shy of Mission Park, though accessed off Benvoulin Road.
A dog team and several officers were used to make the arrest, Kelowna RCMP spokesman Kris Clark said.
