Shannon Lake Golf Club remains open after fire

Management at Shannon Lake Golf Club are refusing to let last week's fire stop its golfers from hitting the links.

For the remainder of 2013, the golf course will operate with limited pro shop inventory, as well as limited food and beverage service. Those services will likely broaden as the season progresses.

"Moving forward, it is our intention to use the events of May 11 as a springboard to build bigger and better things," the club wrote in a release.

The course also recognized the efforts of the firefighters, RCMP members and the fire investigative team.

"We would also like to say 'thank you' again to everyone in the community for their kind words of encouragement. We ask for your patience, but want you all to know that we will be working diligently to earn your continued support."
